She was a bride, entirely of her own doing. She came up with her costume completly on her own, drawn heavily from her dress-up bin and supplemented by a throw from the back of my mom's couch. While I was cringing a bit with the bride motif (there is a really good reflection on the princess-industrial-complex here), she chose a huge piece of blue tule as her veil, which gave the whole thing a Cyndi Lauper flair. The final effect was awesome. Also, we went trick-or-treating with our friends. Their son O. was an owl--how cute is he?
This shot isn't super flattering of the bride, but you get a sense of the colors of the viel and shoes.
At some point when we were going from house to house for the big candy haul, I realized that these were the same doors that I had knocked on as a child. I like that.
